I am Maki Villano and I tinker with all sorts of things.

My background is in electronics engineering but I found myself spending the past fifteen years in software development, taking on various roles from R&D to consulting to management. I spent my first decade working for companies such as HP, Misys, Oracle, and Gameloft followed by several years of trying to launch a few tech startups. Currrently, I am an independent technology consultant.

Outside of consulting, I continue to tinker, learn, create, teach, and play. I presently reside in the wonderful islands of Philippines with my amazing son Io.

Like any other personal web site, this one is about my thoughts, preoccupations, and curiosities. A place where I share my personal projects – this web site being one of them. That said, this site is a work in progress.

I will do my best to properly attribute content that are not mine but in case you notice a miss on my end, please let me know. As for everything else, I claim ownership under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.

I built this site with Material Design Lite components. I also used the beautiful typefaces Montserrat by Julieta Ulanovsky and Muli by Vernon Adams. Additional icons were borrowed from the Material Design Icons community.
